First, slosh your paint brush. Before you start working, slosh the paint brush in solvent. That is the best way to clean-up your brush. The older paint that stick in your paint brush need to disappear to have smooth paint if you use it again. You will get frustrated if you choose to put your paint brush in a dipper. Water will not help you to clean your brush especially if your paint brush is already used. You will have a continuous work if you will cut all the hindrances to have an easy work.
Second, wrap your paint brush or the roller. If you refuse to clean-up your paint brush or roller because you will use it again in the next day, you should wrap it in a plastic bag and put it in a freezer. That way, you can use it smoothly. It is really better if your brush is very easy to use in applying it to the wall, ceiling, cabinet and the part of your house you wish to paint.
Third, use latex gloves or lotion. Even you are a painter or a carpenter; you should know that paint can give you bad skin reaction. In able to avoid it, you need to use latex gloves. In case that you have an allergy to latex gloves, it’s better if you apply lotion. If you make your hand comfortable in latex gloves or lotion, your work will do faster. But if you have asthma, don’t do the house painting. It’s better if you ask some help.
Fourth, you should maintain the wet edge for your paint brush. Your house painting will give you satisfaction if you make sure that when you are applying paint to the brush or roller, it’s always wet. If you apply paint in dry edge, there is a possibility that you get overlap marks. And that is terrible. Don’t make your house painting looks awful. So, make sure that the edge of your brush is always wet. Aside from that, having a brush wet your work will be done faster and beautiful. Everybody wants to have a better house so do your best to make a perfect house.
Fifth, don’t use cheap roller covers and brushes. There’s nothing wrong if you pick a cheaper or second hand roller cover and brushes but you have to make sure that it has the quality. If you choose a low cost roller cover and brushes with less quality, it will leave streaky brush mark. Do you want that to happen? I tell you, if someone sees it, you will get embarrass. It’s better to spend extra dollars than saving cents but can’t give you the satisfaction you deserve.
Sixth, loose paint testing. Is it okay with you to use old paint? There is nothing wrong with that but you have to make sure that it’s still useful. If you can see flakes on that paint, it’s better not to use it anymore. It’s because that will be disgusted.
Seventh, low stick masking tape. If you think that the masking tape of your paint has low quality, there is a possibility that your paint has poor quality also. Even if that paint is cheaper, it should have a better quality. If you continue to use this, you will frustrate afterwards. Do you want that?
